Raised same side wrist grab
Start with your arms raised; i.e. fingers basically pointing up. The attacker grabs the right wrist with his left hand. According to Home Office statistics this is the most likely way a female's wrist will be grabbed by a male attacker. The third most likely way is the same but both wrists are grabbed in this manner. Regardless of whether one wrist is grabbed or both, exactly the same move can be performed. |

As you move your right leg slightly forward (to the outside of the attacker, foot pointing straight forward), push your right elbow over the attacker's grabbing arm. Note that you will be able to do this regardless of how tall the attacker is.
Push your right elbow down and your right hand up, pressing your arm into the wrist of the attacker's grabbing arm. This will break the attacker's grip. Your left hand is also raised reaching towards the attacker's shoulders.
Your right arm is raised in preparation. Your left knee drives into the attacker's upper leg on a leg point .
Your knee to the attacker's leg will make him bend forward to some degree, exposing the back of his head. As your weight transfers onto the left leg (which has just kneed), slap with the right hand. You are aiming for the base of the skull, hitting through the bottom of the skull to the forehead. This will cause an easy knockout. (In class we practiced points just an inch either side of the spine, corresponding to the acupuncture point called Gall Bladder 20. It doesn't matter if you get these exactly; just slap the base of the skull.). |
