Kihon Kata Sequence 2

Kihon Kata

Sequence 2:
gedan barai through
180 degrees

Tori grabs uke's right wrist from behind, perhaps to pull him back for a snotting.
The move works just as well with a single hand grab.

Uke steps back and ensures his elbow points down.
The move works best if uke does not disrupt tori's grip.
Uke flows round it like water; tori still thinks he is in control.
Uke is relaxed.
Keeping your elbow pointing down move your arm up, completely relaxed.
You will find the direction in which tori has no resistance.
At this point tori is stretched up and uke could turn from soft to hard and punch in the solars, squeeze the testicles, etc.
Uke, having broken tori's balance in the previous step, sweeps down (gedan barai), bending tori over backwards.
The preceding moves are done very quickly, so tori is likely to end up on the ground.
Uke moves in quickly to stomp on the nearest available target before tori has recovered; e.g. the floating rib area.
