Kihon Kata Sequence 8

	Kihon Kata Sequence 8: gedan barai through 90 degrees oi tsuki		Tori grabs uke on the chest or throat with his left hand and prepares to strike with his right.
			The first priority is to blindside tori. Uke lifts his right arm up and puts his left hand against toris right hand.
			Uke moves 90 degrees, using his body twist and gross right arm motion to do the blindsiding. This enables the left hand to grab tori's right and apply a lock; the set up to the grab means there is no struggle fiddling to get a grab and lock.
			The lock is applied as the left gedan barai sweeps down, taking tori in a direction that unbalances him with minimum resistance.
			Uke drops his weight down on tori's kidneys, spine, etc.
