Kihon Kata
Sequence 9:
Tori threatens with a fist or finger. |
The most general function of a reaction hand is to grab and pull. Here uke grabs and pulls, blindsiding tori. |
This naturally sets up an oi tsuki. | ||
Often a good attack is a rapid succession of strikes to the same area. The reaction hand still does work, taking hold of whatever is available (in this case a shirt): pulling to increase the impact of the blow, unbalancing to keep tori from attacking, and exposing vital areas. |
