  • President's Welcome

The University of Sussex Boat Club (USBC) has been established for six years, it was started and is run by Sussex students, giving their time, ideas and inspirations. It's a friendly, sociable yet competitive club that is beginning to make an impact on the university racing scene, with four crews progressing beyond their heats this year at the university rowing championships (men's second four to the repechage, men's first IV to semi-finals, men's VIII to semi-finals and women's first IV to finals (placed 6th)).

Rowing begins in one of Shorehams coastal `fours' progressing into the university river four and eight to train for river competition. Over the summer months many students get back into the coastal boats to row for Shoreham in coastal regattas.

We cater for all: hardcore competitive rowers who want to train for competition or relaxed rowers that want an escape from work. Whether you are an experienced rower or a complete novice come along and give it a go.
